New compostable packaging - bags and sheets

Our bag range has been extended to include compostable sandwich bags made from PLA. They have a 40 micron white back, and 25 micron clear front, and come in 190×190mm and 260×260mm sizes. We are also offering PLA sheets for food wrapping in medium 300×400ml and large 350×500ml sizes.

In addition, we’ve taken stock of biodegradable greaseproof sheets, and a range of recycled paper carrier bags.

BS8901…a new standard for sustainable events

The British standards institute has launched BS8901, which sets out the requirements for planning and managing a sustainable event.

Gatherings such as festivals and sporting events enrich our cultural life, though can have negative environmental impacts due to the amount of waste. There are many steps which organizers can take to minimize this, and we at Vegware see it as very positive that event organizers are being asked to plan for this from the outset.

CE-marked compostable pint and half-pint cups

We’re now offering CE-marked compostable pint and half-pint cups made from corn starch. The CE marks mean that they can legally be used to serve beer from un-measured taps…perfect for glass-free venues.

Look out for them at a festival near you this summer!

PLA deli range extended

Our deli range - all made from clear corn starch in the form of PLA - has been extended to include hinged-lid containers. They are of course fully compostable, and come in 250, 375, 500, 750 and 1000ml sizes.

Ideal for takeaway salads…watch out for our new PLA salad fork, which should be hitting the warehouse mid-March.

New bagasse tableware range

To complement our popular bagasse (waste fibre from pressing sugar cane) takeway boxes, we’ve launched plates and bowls made from the same material.

They are excellent value for money, and offer far superior performance to paper plates.

PLA ice-cream / sampling spoons launched.

Our latest product is a mini ice-cream / sampling spoon made from corn starch (PLA). These spoons have a much nicer mouth-feel than their wooden counterparts, and unlike plastic, they are made from an annually-renewable resource and are of course fully compostable.

Combine with our 1oz PLA compostable sampling cups for eco-friendly sampling and direct marketing!
